Looking back, while your 20’s quarter-life crisis might have felt like a frantic scramble to find your path, your purpose, coupled with a mental health rollercoaster fueled by societal expectations and that nagging "should I be doing more?" feeling.
You hit your 40s & bam, perimenopause throws a hormonal wrench into the mix. The anxieties of your 20s might resurface, but this time, they're tangled with the sudden, almost what might seem like overnight physical changes that come with it. None of which you are prepared for, like our guest Arti Dussane Rao, who thought she was “dying”.
In the longest episode we’ve ever done, we shared laughter, tears, and many WTF moments, learning about what this often mysterious period of 2-10 years leading up to menopause looks like, and the toll it takes on our mental health as we try to keep our sanity.
We were honored to have one of the OG’s in the South Asian podcasting space, Bettina Tauro and Ninnorah Brookshire of the NRI Woman Podcast for sharing their experiences with perimenopause.
